It’s been a while since my last post. We have updated the site with the latest version of Buddypress. We also installed “Gifts” where you can send virtual gifts to your friends here at CCCian. We start purging spammers and deleting their accounts. Likewise, the installation of a new anti-spamming plugin makes registration more secure and spam-free.

Lastly, in your Activity stream, you’ll notice a checkbox there showing “Post to Facebook”. You can simultaneously post to Facebook whatever you post in your Activity Stream. Just go to your Profile Settings and enter your Facebook information there.

We have upgraded our site to the latest version of Wordpress. We also installed additional functionalities to make the site more useful and entertaining. On the navigation menu we added Links where you can share your favorite web pages and videos with other CCCians. Users can vote by clicking on the “thumbs down” or “thumbs up” icon. In the activity page, users can also “Like” the status of other members (this is similar to what is implemented in Facebook).

Two days to go and CCC will have its culminating activity in celebration of its Golden anniversary -> the GRAND ALUMNI HOMECOMING. We were told that Aiza Seguerra will be performing on that night. See you there…

Here are the activities of CCC for its upcoming 50th Founding Anniversary:

• Feb 22 – Job Fair / Feeding Program Day
• Feb 23 – Blood Letting Campaign / Legal Counseling on Property Issues
• Feb 24 – Beads Making Seminar / Parenting Seminar
• Feb 25 – Medical/Dental Mission
  Venue of these activities is at the FORMATION Center; 9 to 12 noon
• Feb 26 – Grand Alumni Homecoming Night (at the CCC Grounds)
  5 PM – Registration Starts
  6 PM – Mass
  7 PM – Alumni Night Program

We are thankful I’ve been able to recontruct the site. The old site had been bombarded by spammers causing massive registration of accounts. It later resulted to the ballooning of our database which caused the site to load slower and use substantial server resources at the expense of other websites hosted on the same server. (dudugo na ilong). Well, that’s it. We may be starting once again, but I know with your support, everything will go back to normal.

Here are some of the changes:

• Installation of captcha script to deter spammers.
• We now don’t allow blogs to be created for members. This blog that you’re reading is the only blog available. Maybe in the future we can change this policy.
• Forums are fully functional. Group members can create and start threads for their particular group.
